Gracilianca Reviews is back at it again, this time sharing with you B's thoughts on the Valentine’s Day Combo (available until Feb 16) at the newly opened Jung Korean BBQ restaurant in the southside of Edmonton! Check out their menu here: http://www.jungrestaurant.ca/menu

Location: 9219A 34 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T6E 5T5, ph# (780) 757-3612

OVERALL EXPERIENCE: 4.25/5. It’s a good option for date night and good value for what you get. We had an issue with the fuse being broken at our table and they had to replace it. For the inconvenience we got free pop 😊

CORN CHEESE: 4.75/5. Great presentation, very cheesy, and good flavour.

GOPCHANG SOONDUBOO JJIGAE (soup of our choice): 4/5. It’s a spicy tofu soup cooked with beef intestines and vegetables. If you like beef intestines you will enjoy this; it was cooked well and had a good soup flavour that pairs well with rice.

MAIN BBQ ENTREES: We were instructed which order to cook and eat the meat in. AAA+ RIBEYE: 4.5/5. It was juicy, tender enough, and tasted good with the provided sauce or together with all the available side dishes or marinated onions and radishes that were provided. PORK BELLY: 4/5. Flavour was good and I enjoyed making lettuce wraps with it (lettuce, sauce, garlic, marinated onions, and radish). My personal preference would have been for a slightly thicker cut, but the thinner slices made it easy to cook. MARINATED PORK SHOULDER: 3.5/5. It was okay for me but I do not personally prefer marinated meats for Korean BBQ. The marinade was not bad by any stretch, just not what I prefer. With the flavour, you don’t really need to add anything else when eating it.

BEEF BULGOGI: 3.5/5. This was not bad, it just didn’t stand out after having all the wonderful grilled meats. There was a good ratio of veggies to meat.

SIDE DISHES: 4/5. There was a good variety of 4 side dishes. The seaweed one was my favourite. If you’re looking for a fun meal to enjoy with someone, it’s worth trying 😊
